just minutes from the picturesque Blue Ridge Parkway and I-81, James River
Bed and Breakfast offers homestyle hospitality for the weary traveler
and the vacationing family. Relax after a day of sightseeing
or driving on our spacious covered country front porch overlooking the
scenic Blue Ridge Mountains which surround the area. 
From this vantage point, you can see the truly stunning fall colors
of brilliant reds, deep maroons, bright yellows, and vibrant oranges.
If you wish, you can stroll through the scenic countryside surrounding
the house 
or take a short walk into downtown Historic Buchanan
to browse the many charming shops for unique antiques and other country
favorites. After enjoying the countryside, you are
welcome to relax in the Common Room with any 
movie from our extensive video library, or bring your own video
to watch on our TV/VCR. If you don't want to watch a movie, simply relax
on the comfie couch and read in peace. After enjoying
a quiet, restful night's sleep in our comfortable beds, join us for a
hearty full breakfast at the Dining Room table. We fix a variety
of recipes, but all breakfasts are indeed full and hearty so that you
can begin your day right! Items that can be found on the menu might include
pecan waffles, fruits, bacon, eggs, blueberry pancakes, fresh jams and
jellies, and our renowned homemade breads. We serve only fresh Starbuck's
Coffee, so you know it's good, too!
Completely decorated with enchanting carousel horses and dolls, this room
features a single Queen size bed. The sun even greets you in the morning

We share our home with cats and a dog, all of whom are friendly and would love to meet you and enjoy your attentions. The entire house is decorated extensively with antiques and country knickknacks, and, as such, is not child-proofed. For safety sake, we do not recommend bringing children under the age of 12. We do not serve alcoholic beverages nor allow alcohol on the premises. In addition, inside the house is smoke free. Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and check-out is anytime before 11:00 AM. We are open Memorial Day Weekend through October 31st, and we kindly request that reservations be made before planning to stay with us. Visa and Mastercard Accepted.
